Volunteering - short-term opportunities

Thriving Kirklees’ work with children, young people and families in home and community settings means we have a number of shorter-term roles available for volunteers. Those can include occasional roles and ad hoc opportunities that are available from time-to-time.

We’ve gathered together those roles here.

After a brief description of the role you’ll see a link to the website of the organisation that offers those opportunities so you can find out more and apply for available roles.

Safety Rangers Assistant

Safety Rangers is a multi-agency, interactive, accident prevention event and is aimed at Kirklees’ Year 5 pupils to help prevent childhood accidents and improve health and wellbeing.

The Safety Rangers Assistant will work closely within the YCC Thriving Kirklees team to assist with the organisation and delivery of Safety Rangers.  Suitable volunteers would have strong organisational and administrative skills, and also great communication skills – particularly enjoying working with children.
