Volunteers Week 2021

Volunteers’ Week takes place between 1-7 June every year and is a time to recognise and thank volunteers. During an exceptionally difficult year, people from all walks of life around the UK have taken the time to volunteer and made a huge difference to people and their communities – just as they do every year.

Volunteers play a key role across the Thriving Kirklees partnership, supporting children, young people and their families to thrive and be healthy. So we want to say a massive thank you to all our volunteers.

There are now almost 150 volunteers across the partnership’s services and over the past year, even during the pandemic they offered an amazing 6285 hours to support children, young people and families – a staggering achievement in these difficult times.

If you’d like to become a volunteer with Thriving Kirklees then pop over to our Volunteering page to find out more.

So, as its Volunteer Week 2021 we wanted to say a BIG “Thank You” to all volunteers in lots of different ways so here’s how we’re doing that this year:

  • the launch of new films from both Locala and Home-Start Kirklees – showcasing the work of volunteers and saying thank you for their support. (we’ll post them on here when they’ve been published).
  • And some extra thank you events are being planned for later in the year when Covid-19 social distancing restrictions allow.

So, once again a Massive Thank you to our many volunteers who together give more than 6000 hours of support to people across Kirklees.
