Volunteering with Thriving Kirklees

Through our Thriving Kirklees partnership, we can offer you a range of volunteering opportunities that help support children, young people and their families right across Kirklees.

June 1st to 7th is national Volunteers Week – find out more about what Thriving Kirklees partners are up to celebrate this year.

Every year, over 20 million people across England and the UK volunteer, donating more than 100 million hours to their communities every week.

In the Thriving Kirklees partnership we have around 150 volunteers, who in the past year gave more than 6000 hours of support.

Volunteers bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and experience, so why not volunteer with one of our Thriving Kirklees partner organisations, because we recognise that everyone has a skill they can share!

We recruit volunteers from all sectors of the community and hope to match you with the most appropriate opportunities to suit your needs and expectations.

Volunteering provides you with the opportunity to:

  • offer a helping hand to everyday people
  • increase skills and experience to help gain employment
  • connect by building relationships and making friendships
  • reduce social isolation and loneliness
  • contribute to local society
  • gain a sense of belonging
  • access support and training to help grow role in volunteering.

Thriving Kirklees offers a variety of different roles across our partners – Locala, South West Yorkshire Foundation NHS Trust, Yorkshire Children’s Centre, Northorpe Hall and Home Start Kirklees.
